What we can do for you?
Our community and learning hub is a safe and supportive space where learners can achieve the best possible outcomes within a setting that is welcoming, nurturing and inclusive. Zig Zag Hub’s ethos is self-empowerment and harnessing the creative potential innate in our learners. We are passionate about investing in and inspiring our youth to shape the world around them and to courageously create lives that they want to live. We promote life-long learning, adaptability and we seek to foster greater independence, learning new skills and enhancing quality of life. All of our staff take pride in what they do and our learners are at the centre of all that we do at Zig Zag Hub. Learning provides unique opportunities to collaborate and connect with each other whilst developing valuable skills and interests. We advocate looking after each other, seeing each other from our point of power and recognising and celebrating our progress.
Programmes for participants
Technology and innovation are taking our world by storm and creating abundant advances and opportunities. NDIS participants, between 10 and 15 years of age, may benefit from our programmes in design thinking and coding.
Design thinking:
We love working with neurodiverse young people. It is hugely rewarding to see their creativity shine through as they take ownership of their idea, growing in confidence as they expand and fine-tune it. Through game design, students have the opportunity to tackle a variety of sustainability challenges by problem solving and being creative.
Coding:
It is amazing to see our neurodiverse youth really power on in this space. Learning to code is such a valuable skill in the age that we live in. Many neurodiverse people have found that programming is an area that they can excel in and that can provide opportunities for meaningful connections to community and/or work. By the end of the program, students will have a portfolio showcasing their skills and knowledge in programming as well as a certificate of completion.
